We are committed to providing schools with healthy and nutritional meals in line with the school food plan. We take pride in ensuring that plentiful, healthy and nutritious food options are available, from the very first person in the queue to the last; this includes ensuring portion sizes are adequate and consistent throughout service.
WilsonJones menu adapts the following principles
to ensure that we meet the school food plan:
-
We operate in a no added salt post cooking policy, reducing the salt intake of all students and staff.
-
We limit our menus to no more than two portions of deep-fried, battered or breaded food a week.
-
We use healthier means of cooking, such as grilling and baking that does not result in the loss of flavour, texture and quality in the menus we provide.
-
Our cakes and bakes are made from fresh ingredients incorporating yoghurt and fruit to maximise the nutritional value.
Our Food Philosophy
Our Services
Nutrition
Our aim is to ensure that students have a balanced meal intake, we incorporate vegetables into all our main meals as well as in our grab and go range e.g. wraps, burritos, burgers etc. The flavours imparted from our freshly prepared food will encourage students to make healthier food choices both in and outside of school.
Creativity
Our skilled Food Development Team create menus which are diverse in their flavours and origins - from hearty lasagnes to spice packed curries, the team works hard to ensure there is always something for our customers to eat, no matter their preferences.
Sustainability
Sustainability and the
reduction of the impact on the environment are vitally important to WilsonJones. Our customers are the next generation and they quite rightly expect us to set an example and to do the maximum to improve the environment in which they live.
